Who are we?
In the business market, Brocacef serves a wide variety of care providers: from pharmacies and dispensing general practitioners to hospitals, care and nursing homes, and from pharmaceutical manufacturers to veterinarians. In the consumer market, Brocacef is visible with a network of over 500 pharmacies (320 owned and 180 partner pharmacies) and via BENU Direct.

What do our sites do?
Brocacef Eindhoven
Brocacef's pharmaceutical wholesalers in Amsterdam and Eindhoven, among other locations, support pharmacies, dispensing GP practices, hospitals, outpatient pharmacies and veterinary practices on a daily basis, by means of fast and optimal distribution of medicines, medical supplies and OTC. The range consists of ± 1900 articles.
The wholesaler provides warehousing and distribution of medicines and medical items, delivering them innight, overnight and same-day to its customers. On location, all employees are occupied daily with clearing, order picking and preparing these articles for shipment.
Central filling activities also take place in the wholesale division. This department takes care of (repeat) prescriptions for pharmacies. Using an automated system, prescriptions are prepared for each patient. This process is also called packing, pasting and packaging, which means that they are labelled and packed on site per patient.
Brocacef Maatmedicatie Ede & Zevenbergen
The Brocacef Maatmedicatie locations in Amersfoort, Ede and Zevenbergen specialize in making medication reels. These medication rolls consist of pouches containing oral medications that are custom packaged for patients at each moment of intake. These pouches are rolled up per patient into a custom medication roll, also called a baxter roll, and then delivered to patients' homes or nursing homes.
State-of-the-art equipment is used during this packaging process. Packaging is done through Brocacef's Drug Distribution System (GDS), which packages an assortment of over 1,200 items weekly. Once the medication is packaged, an automatic check of the medication per bag takes place using scavenging machines. Deviations are marked, reviewed by a controller and corrected if necessary. This process repeats itself one more time with another checker in order to minimize errors.
Finally, the transport of the medication rolls is also provided by Brocacef through its own transport network.
Fun fact
Every week, 190 kilometres of medication rolls are produced by Brocacef Maatmedicatie. This is roughly the distance from the location in Amersfoort to Maastricht.
